1. Who we are

Abyss ("we", "us") is a digital logbook and social platform for certified scuba divers. This policy explains what personal data we collect and how we handle it under the GDPR.

2. Data we collect

  • Account: email, password (hashed), display name, date of birth.
  • Certification: agency, level, number, photo of your card.
  • Dive data: sites, depths, durations, photos, notes, buddies.
  • Technical: device type, language, anonymous usage analytics.

3. How we use it

To run your account, validate certifications, show your logbook to people you choose, generate community statistics, and improve the app.

4. Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share it only with infrastructure providers (database, storage, email) bound by data-processing agreements.

5. Your rights

You can export all your data or permanently delete your account from Settings → GDPR. You can also request access, rectification or restriction by emailing privacy@abyss.app.

6. Minors

Users under 18 require parental consent. Their profile is private and excluded from leaderboards and public feeds.

7. Retention

We keep your data while your account is active. Deletion removes profile, dives, stickers and reviews within 30 days.
